Mumbai, India is home to the OSCAR Foundation head office. Through their football programme they reach out to children and youth aged between 6 and 22. Anyone who fits between this age range can attend their football programme. By attracting young people through football, they promise to provide them this if they continue their education. By giving young people the incentive to continue learning they will remain committed to learning new life skills and get out and beyond the slums in and around Mumbai.
67% of children who don’t complete their education are girls. The OSCAR Foundation put particular emphasis on helping girls to play football and encourage them to continue their education.
