Best upcoming German Football Players - Ones to Watch in 2025

Arijon Ibrahimovic

The young star has a very famous second name due to Zlatan however, they have no connection. The young playmaker who currently plays for Bayern Munich and has been offered a new contract due to the trust in the German’s abilities.  Wunderkind Arijon Ibrahimović has the world at his feet and he has some of the best attacking midfielders in the world to tutor him. One example is Jamal Musuala, he is another young superstar who is a wonderful example of what Ibrahimovic can strive to be.

Assan Ouédraogo

Assan has joined RB Leipzig, after a breakout season in Bundesliga 2 with Schalke. He is a name that many people won’t know just yet however, that will soon change. Known for his excellent technical ability and skill many top scouts have been very impressed.

Aswan is a local boy at Schalke and has been brilliant for the youth teams. He shone bright as early as the 2021/22 term, when he scored seven and provided eight assists in 15 outings for Schalke's U17s as they were crowned German champions, and he continued that form at U19 level, netting seven in 13 matches in all competitions during 2022/23.

Now he has a chance to break out at RB Leipzig where they have a brilliant reputation of enhancing potential. Many players they have brought in have sold on for a lot of profit to elite European clubs. Competitions in the UCL and high up in the Bundesliga.

Paul Wanner

Wanner is the youngest debutant ever for Bayern Munich due to many injuries and the African Cup of Nations made players ineligible to play. However, this does prove that he is not too far down the pecking order for the German Giants. Although, with the Bayern squad being one of the strongest in Europe they decided to send him on loan. The Bayern player was sent to Elversberg last season where he helped them to survive, scoring 6 times and assisting 3.

Wanner has been sent on loan again to Bundesliga side Heidenheim where he has shown his talent once again, scoring twice and assisting once. The German Manager apparently called up the young star for him to reject the call up due to wanting to stay with the German u21’s for now. He has yet to decide if he wants to play for Austria or Germany who both federations are desperate to gain his services.

Justin Diehl

A young exciting winger has most of Germany thrilled to see his potential for nation and club. Cologne had no choice but to make Justin Diehl a first-team regular at the tail end of last season thanks to his stunning form for their second team. He has switched to Stuttgart, now he has an exciting prospect in playing in the UCL.

Stuttgart claim him to be one of the best young talents in Europe and they hope they can train his skills further. He likes to drop deep and play with style and create chances for his teammates.

Youssoufa Moukoko

You may have heard of Moukoko, he was a wonder kid and scored an outrageous amount of goals for the youth teams at Dortmund. He is now on loan at Nice from Dortmund. He will hope to finally bring his obvious talent into the first team. He has done well, scoring 2 goals and assisting one in 6 appearances. Moukoko was the youngest debutant in Bundeliga history and he finally looks like he is showing the form we all know he is capable of.

The young striker has been called up for the first team for club and nation numerous times. He has failed but he has not lived up to his full potential. He is a small nippy striker who has an eye for goal. He may take a bit longer to get used to first team football but once he does, most elite clubs will snap him up.
